Your audit history and compliance certificate serve as documented evidence of good-faith effort. You can download a PDF report from any audit date to share with your attorney. We recommend consulting a lawyer, but having active, timestamped compliance records significantly strengthens your position.
How does the GTM install work?+
You add a single Custom HTML tag to Google Tag Manager with your license key. No developer needed — if you can log into GTM, you can install AccessShield. The script is domain-locked, so it only activates on the authorized domain.
Is GDPR consent actually required for US businesses?+
GDPR applies to any business that processes data of EU residents, regardless of where the business is located. If any EU visitors land on your site and you use analytics or advertising tools, GDPR applies. CCPA (California) has similar requirements. AccessShield's consent banner covers both.
What is identity resolution and is it GDPR compliant?+
Identity resolution matches returning visitors to records in your CRM using consent-gated session data (IP hash, device fingerprint, behavior). It only activates after a visitor accepts Marketing cookies in your consent banner — making it fully GDPR and CCPA compliant by design. Currently uses first-party data only; third-party enrichment is on the roadmap.
